Find, sort and filter a survey's points

  • Updated

A survey's Points tab in Ecobot Manager lists every sampling point, with its determination and its vegetation, soil and hydrology answers. This article shows you how to narrow the list to the points you need: search it, sort it, filter it by result, and find a point on the map.

Search for a point

  1. Open the survey, then the Points tab.
  2. Type in Search point name or any saved value.

The search looks at point names and every value saved on a point, so you can find points by more than their name. For example, search for a species by its scientific name, common name or symbol, such as Acer rubrum or red maple, to see the points where it was recorded.

Sort the list

Choose an order from Sort by:

  • Point name
  • North–South or East–West, to go through the points in the order they lie on the site
  • Date

To reverse the order, select the button next to Sort by.

Show only some points

The Point summary at the top of the Points tab counts the survey's sample points, wetland points and upland points. Select a box to show only those points. A filter appears above the list, with the number of matching points. To show every point again, select the × on the filter.

If any point has no determination yet, a note under the boxes says how many. Select it to show only those points. To find and finish them, see Review a survey for QA in Ecobot Manager.

The counts on the survey's Overview tab work the same way. Select a number in Survey findings or the Parameter summary, such as the points where hydric soil is present, to see just those points in the list.

Read the list

  • Determination: Wetland, Upland or Pending.
  • Veg, Soil and Hydro: a tick if hydrophytic vegetation, hydric soil or wetland hydrology is present, and a cross if it's absent.
  • Date: the point's sampling date.

To open a point for editing, select its name. See Edit a point. To download one point's data form, select the PDF icon on its row. For the point's other options, select the ⋮ menu.

Find a point on the map

The small map next to the list shows where the points are at a glance: wetland, upland and pending points each have their own symbol. To find a point on it, select the point's row anywhere except its name, or select Show on map in the point's ⋮ menu. You can also step through the points with the arrows under the map.

To work with the survey's maps, select Full map. See Mapping in Ecobot Manager.
