Bulk edit points

  • Updated

Bulk edit in Ecobot Manager changes the top-of-form information on several points at once, such as the applicant, investigators or city and county. It's the quickest way to fill in or correct those fields after field work. This article shows you how.

Before you start

Check the survey out in Manager, so you can edit it. See How syncing works: check-in, checkout, and sync.

Bulk edit points

  1. Open the survey and go to the Points tab.
  2. Select the box next to each point you want to change. To select every point, use the box at the top of the list.
  3. Select Bulk edit in the bar above the list.

  1. For each field you want to change, turn on Apply and enter the new value. Fields you don't turn on stay as they are.
  2. Select Review changes at the bottom of the page.

See the current values

Before you change a field, check what the points have now. The Current values column shows whether a field is the same on all the selected points, blank, or different across them. Select it to see each value and how many points have it, so you can compare it with what you recorded in the field.

A dot next to a field's name means its value differs across the selected points. To add or remove points, select Change selection at the top of the page.

Fields you can bulk edit

  • Survey / Site
  • Applicant / Owner
  • Investigator(s)
  • City/County
  • State
  • Section, Township, Range
  • Subregion (LRR or MLRA)
  • Datum

To change field data, such as vegetation, soils or hydrology, open the point itself. See Edit a point.

Fill in location fields automatically

Ecobot can fill in location fields from each point's coordinates. Select the points, then select Fetch location data in the same bar as Bulk edit. See Fetch location data.

To set values that every new point in a survey starts with, use survey defaults. See Create a survey and set defaults.
