Ecobot Manager keeps a history of every change to a sampling point: who made it, when, and whether it came from Manager or Ecobot Collector. You can compare versions, put back a whole earlier version or just some of its fields, and restore a point that was deleted. This article shows you how.
Open a point's history
- Open the survey, then the Points tab.
- Select the ⋮ menu on the point's row, then History.
The History list shows the point's versions, newest first, with who made each change, when, and its Source. The version the point has now is marked Current, and the first version on record is marked Baseline. History starts from the first change made to a point after October 2026, so an older point may have no versions yet.
Compare versions
Select a version in the History list. The Changes panel shows each field that changed, with the old and new values side by side, grouped by section such as Vegetation.
Choose what to compare at the top of the Changes panel:
- Changes in this version: what changed from the version before it.
- Compare with current: how it differs from the point as it is now.
- Other version: how it differs from another version you choose.
To see every field, not just the ones that changed, select Show all fields.
Restore an earlier version
Check the survey out first. See How syncing works: check-in, checkout, and sync. Then, with the changes for the version you want showing:
- To put the whole version back, select Restore version (with its number).
- To put back only some fields, check the box next to each one, then select Restore selected fields from version.
The restore is added as a new version at the top of the History list, so you can always see what was put back.
Restore a deleted point
A deleted point isn't gone for good, whether it was deleted in Manager or Collector. Its history stays readable, and you can restore it in Manager while the survey is checked out to you.
- On the survey's Points tab, select Deleted points. The number next to it is how many points have been deleted.
The list shows each deleted point, when it was deleted, who deleted it, and whether that was in Manager or Collector.
- Select Restore on the point's row. To look at its history first, select History.
- Select Restore point to confirm.
The point goes back into the survey's list with all its data from before it was deleted, and a Restored entry is added to its history. When no points are deleted, the Deleted points button doesn't appear.
You can also restore a point from its history page: select Restore point at the top, then confirm.
To go back to the survey's other points from the Deleted points list, select Back to active points.
