The Hydrology section of a wetland point in Ecobot Collector is where you record field observations and hydrology indicators, and decide whether wetland hydrology is present. This article walks through each part.
Not sure which regional form to use? See Wetland region selection.
Is wetland hydrology present?
Choose Yes, No or Pending under Wetland Hydrology Present?. It's at both the top and the bottom of the Hydrology screen, so you don't miss it.
It starts as Pending, and you need to choose Yes or No yourself, whatever the indicators show, in keeping with USACE guidelines. Any point still on Pending is flagged for review in Ecobot Manager.
Record field observations
Under Field Observations, enter the depth in inches for Surface Water, Water Table and Saturation, where they apply. Each one is marked Yes when you enter a depth, and cleared if you delete it.
Check hydrology indicators
The Primary Indicators and Secondary Indicators match the regional form you chose for the survey. Check each one that applies.
To read about an indicator from the USACE Regional Supplement, tap the i icon on its row. This information is available offline.
Finish the section
- Describe: type or dictate.
- Remarks: type or dictate.
When you're done, tap the back arrow at the top left to return to the point.
In Manager
You can also fill in hydrology in Ecobot Manager. Check the survey out, open the point, and select the Hydrology tab at the top of the form. It has the same indicators and field observations, and Wetland Hydrology Present? with Yes, No or Pending. Select Save data when you're done. See Edit a point.
