Every USACE wetland survey in Ecobot uses a regional form, chosen when you create the survey. This article shows you how the region is chosen in Ecobot Collector and Ecobot Manager, and what to do if a survey was started with the wrong one.
Choose the region
When you create a wetland survey in Collector, Ecobot suggests a region based on your current location: USACE Region is automated based on your current location.
To use a different region, tap Survey and choose it from the list, then tap Done. Some regions offer a choice of 4 or 5 strata, such as Atlantic and Gulf Coastal Plain (4) and (5).
In Manager, you choose the regional form when you add a survey. See Create a survey and set defaults.
Important: once a survey is created, its region can't be changed. That includes the strata option, such as 4 or 5 strata within the same region. Check the region before you start collecting.
Surveys with different regions or strata options also can't be merged, so make sure everyone on your team uses the same one. See Transfer and merge surveys.
Started a survey with the wrong region?
Regional forms have different structures and fields, so a survey can't be moved to another region. Instead, make a new survey with the right region and bring your point locations across.
Save the data from the old survey
- Open the survey with the wrong region in Manager.
- Download its Survey PDF. You'll use it to re-enter the data. See Download survey files and forms.
- Download its Survey CSV, and open it in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Copy the point name, latitude and longitude columns into a new sheet, and save it as a CSV. For the layout Ecobot expects, see Upload a CSV.
Make a new survey with the right region
- In Manager, add a new survey and choose the correct regional form.
- Fill in the survey information.
- Under CSV Upload (optional), select Browse and choose the CSV you saved.
- Select Add survey.
- Check the preview of your point names and coordinates, then confirm to create the survey.
The new survey has all your points in the same places. Use the PDF from the old survey to fill in each point's data again.
