If you already have sampling point names and coordinates, from a client or an earlier survey, you can upload them as a CSV when you create a survey in Ecobot Manager. Manager creates a point for each row, so they're ready for your field team. This article shows you how.
Upload points from a CSV
- On the Surveys page, select Add survey.
- Choose the survey type and regional form, then select Start.
- Fill in the survey information. Only Project/Site is required.
- Under CSV Upload (optional), select Browse and choose your CSV.
- Select Add survey.
- Check the preview of your point names and coordinates, then confirm to create the survey.
The new points show on the survey's Points tab and on its map.
Format your CSV
Your CSV needs one row per point, with a column for the point's name, latitude and longitude. Coordinates are in decimal degrees. To download a sample, select View our example CSV here on the new survey form.
| name | latitude | longitude |
|---|---|---|
| A-01 | 35.4833679 | -82.6280493 |
| A-02 | 35.4834290 | -82.6278257 |
| B-01 | 35.4832764 | -82.6278578 |
Good to know
- You can only upload points when you create a survey. You can't add a CSV to an existing survey.
- Only point names and coordinates are imported. Fill in the rest of the top-of-form information with survey defaults, Bulk edit points or Fetch location data.
