Deleting a user in Ecobot Manager permanently removes their access and frees their seat for someone new. This article explains when to delete a user, what to do first, and how to do it.
When to delete a user
- Someone has left: an employee or contractor no longer works with your organization.
- You need the seat: you're freeing a paid seat for a new team member.
- Security: you're removing inactive or unauthorized accounts.
If someone only needs less access, change their role instead. See Manage users.
Who can delete users
- Admins can delete Managers and Users.
- Managers can delete Managers and Users, but not Admins.
- Users can't delete anyone.
You can't delete your own account from the Users page.
Before you delete someone
- Transfer their surveys to another active team member. See Transfer and merge surveys.
- Make sure none of their surveys are checked out. Ask them to check their surveys in, or force check-in from the Surveys page. See How syncing works: check-in, checkout, and sync.
- Download anything you need to keep, such as forms, reports or data, for your records.
- Let your team know, so nobody is confused about who owns which survey.
Until their surveys are transferred and checked in, Delete user is greyed out, with the reminder "Transfer their surveys and check them in first".
Delete a user
- Select Users in the side menu.
- Select the ⋮ menu on the person's row, then Delete user.
- Type DELETE to confirm, then select Delete.
What happens next
The person loses access immediately, and their seat becomes available for someone else. Deleting a user can't be undone, so if they come back, invite them again.
