Ecobot Manager gathers every plant species recorded in a survey into one list, with each species' wetland indicator status and how often it was dominant. Use it to QA the vegetation data before you deliver, and download it as a CSV for reporting.
Review a survey's species
- Open the survey in Manager.
- Open the Species tab.
The top of the tab sums up the survey's vegetation:
- Species: how many species were recorded, and at how many of the survey's points
- Hydrophytic: how many species are OBL, FACW or FAC
- Dominant records: the share of dominant records that are hydrophytic, among species with a known indicator
- QA flags: how many species need a closer look
Below that, Indicator status distribution counts the species in each USACE wetland indicator category. A blank indicator means none was recorded for that species.
Filter the species list
The list shows each species with its indicator, whether it was recorded in wetland or upland settings, how many times it was dominant, and how many points it was recorded at. Select Wetland, Upland, Hydrophytic or Flagged to narrow the list, or All to see every species again.
Check flagged species
A flag icon next to a species name means it needs a closer look before you deliver. The QA flags panel on the Species tab explains each one:
- Unresolved / incomplete taxa: the name isn't in the National Wetland Plant List, so it can't be given an indicator. Correct the name on the point where it was recorded.
- No indicator assigned: no record of the species has a USACE indicator, so it's left out of the hydrophytic totals.
Flags are worked out from the survey's current point data each time you open the tab. They aren't included in the species CSV.
Download the species list
- Open the survey's Deliverables tab.
- Next to Species List, select Download.
The CSV lists each species' scientific name, percent cover, dominance by point, and the other vegetation data collected in the field. For the survey's other files, see Download survey files and forms.
