Wetland determination: summary of findings

  • Updated

The Summary Of Findings at the bottom of a point in Ecobot Collector brings together your vegetation, soil and hydrology answers, and is where you decide whether the point is within a wetland. This article explains how it works.

Not sure which regional form to use? See Wetland region selection.

Review your answers

After you've filled in Vegetation, Soils and Hydrology, scroll to Summary Of Findings at the bottom of the point. It shows your answer to each question:

  • Hydrophytic Vegetation Present?
  • Hydric Soils Present?
  • Wetland Hydrology Present?

Under each answer, Collector lists the indicators you checked. If an answer still says Pending, go back to that section and choose Yes or No.

Is the point within a wetland?

  1. Under Within a Wetland?, choose Yes, No or Pending. It starts as Pending.
  2. If it's Yes, you can enter a Wetland Site ID.
  3. Choose the Wetland Type, and add any Remarks.

In Manager

A point's Summary section in Ecobot Manager has the same four questions, each with Yes, No or Pending. Under the vegetation, soil and hydrology questions, a Set in … link takes you to that section of the form. Select Save data when you're done.

Ecobot doesn't decide vegetation, soil, hydrology or the wetland determination for you. You make each one as the scientist, in keeping with USACE requirements. Use the summary to check that you've made every selection.

Any point with an answer still on Pending is flagged for review in Ecobot Manager, so nothing gets missed during QA.
